Religion
Of the
many things that set Catholic Schools
apart, the most important is their
commitment to Christ and His Gospel.
To bring young lives to Christ, we at
Mother Catherine Spalding School provide a
religion program that includes:
-
Instruction in Catholic Doctrine
|
-
Reading and Study of Scripture
|
-
Formal and Informal Prayer
|
-
Participation in Mass and Other
Services
|
-
Programs of Christian Service to
Persons in Need
|
At
Mother Catherine Spalding, religion is not
just a course of study. It is a way
of life - the spirit that animates every
aspect of our school community as each
member grows in faith, hope and love.
Religion, like most other subjects, is
taught daily. Catholic Doctrine and
Scripture are taught on all levels.
Both formal and informal prayers are said
throughout the day. Children have
the opportunity to attend Mass, prayer
services, penance services, stations of
the cross, rosary, May Crowning of the
Blessed Mother and other Spiritual Events.
Parents are invited to all religious
functions of the school. Students in
grades 2-8 will have the opportunity to
prepare the Liturgy of the Word for Mass
celebration. |
